Elecnor-Deimos has recently delivered to the French public institution ONERA the first unit of its unmanned aerial platform D80 TITAN. This delivery is the result of a supply contract awarded to Deimos in 2017 by the aforementioned aerospace R & D body, affiliated to the French Ministry of Defence.

D80 TITAN, unmanned aerial platform (UAV) developed by Elecnor Deimos, will be used by ONERA in its research programmes and will allow the experimentation in flight of subsystems developed by the French centre, including cameras, sensors and flight control systems.

The design and manufacture of the D80 TITAN platform has been carried out by the UAV Division of Elecnor-Deimos in its facilities located in Puertollano (Ciudad Real). Manufactured in carbon fibre, the D80 TITAN has 80 kg of maximum weight at take-off, 30 kg of payload and up to 10 hours of autonomy. The platform enables 3 cargo bays with more than 100 litres of volume to accommodate mission loads, which make it one of the most versatile and flexible systems in its category. Its applications are oriented towards JISR (Joint Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) missions with a wide range of capabilities, both as flight experimentation platform and for operational missions, incorporating various electronic warfare and mission systems.

The D80 TITAN system is one of the Spanish platforms included in the RAPAZ Program that is being carried out by the General Directorate for Armament and Material (DGAM) of the Ministry of Defence of Spain, counting with an Experimental Airworthiness Certificate for TITAN. Currently, several units of this platform are under construction to carry out functional demonstrations as a light tactical UAV system.
